First thing's first—tillandsias (air plants) are epiphytes. They grow clinging onto three trunks, nowhere near the ground.

The is key to understanding their care needs!

Tillandsia xerographica is covered in trichomes, which help the plant absorb moisture.

After watering, the plant must be able to fully dry out, or else it will succumb to crown rot.
