what you need to know!
Nodes are the growth points along the stem of your monstera (all plants have them!). New stems, leaves, soil roots, and aerial roots grow out of them.
Since roots grow from nodes, you'll want to make sure to include a node on the monstera cutting.
With the stem pointed up, cut it off of the mother plant, cutting just underneath a node so that it's included on the cutting.
If you cut a piece of the stem without any nodes on it, nothing will happen. The cutting will die because there is no growth point!
Now that you know where to cut monsteras to propagate them, learn what to do next to continue growing the cutting.
